Over an 11-year period MeenMoves is reimagining Heinrich Hoffman’s Struwwelpeter stories as solo dance-theatre films, producing one chapter each year. Culminating with a live multi-media event in 2026, each story is created anew by and for those who live beyond the “mainstream.” What was originally a mid-19th century children’s book of parables for a white, Christian, German audience finds new life in today’s diverse, interconnected world as a celebration of self-expression at all costs, even in the face of systematic oppression.
