Paige Barnett is a Louisiana/NYC-based dancer and artist from Lafayette, LA, where she graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UL in 2017. In Louisiana, she danced with Basin Dance Collective under the direction of Clare Cook from 2017-2019. In 2018, Paige began creating movement and film installations: a short dance film, Periscope, which received an Official Selection for the 92Y Mobile Dance Film Festival in NYC, a solo gallery exhibit titled Woman in Bath (90 Minutes), and a rework of Tina Girouard’s Mardi Gras Suites and Quartets 1974/2018 held at Acadiana Center for the Arts (AcA). In 2019, she choreographed a new site-specific work, Every Place We Ever Lived, directed by Gina Aswell and funded by the AcA and Lafayette Economic Development Authority ArtSpark grant. Once in NYC, Paige danced for the Marc Jacobs Spring 2020 Fashion Show, Christina Noel & The Creature, MeenMoves, and (currently) Dance Heginbotham. She has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and for the Guggenheim Museum’s Works and Process Program. Her newest video art series, CAMGIRL, is a live-streamed look into the psyche of the feminine performer. Most recently, Paige was awarded a 2021 ArtSpark grant to debut a site specific opera-and-dance work, A Song of Visions, which will premiere in Washington, LA in November 2021.
